TT Games is a British video game developer
In November 2007, Warner Bros interactive entertainment acquired TT Games as part of their move into the video game market
The Lego Movie video game was directed by Matt Palmer (who was known for his work on Tim Burton's Corpse Bride)
The game was launched the same week as the movie, Why do you think this was done?
- Profit is maximised
- Free advertising (already adverts for the movie)
- Familiarity with characters and set
- extends pleasure of the film or video game
- promote one another

The Lego Movie video game is an example of successful vertical integration. Where Warner Bros has worked with their own gaming company to produce a video game linked directly to the release of the motion picture of the same name
The video game shares similar themes and voice acting by the stars of the motion picture. The Lego Movie video game is also an example of a successful cross platform release

How does Warner Bros use horizontal and vertical integration? Use the Video game as your example.
Warner Bros use horizontal integration to help create the movie and texts surrounding it. The main example of this is the fact they worked with Lego, which benefits them as without working with them, they couldn't create the film. Also, loyal fans of lego will want to watch the film, bringing new audiences in. However it also benefits Lego because more people see the film and decide to purchase legos toys. Contrastingly, vertical integration is used because Warner Bros worked with their gaming company, so they gained all the profit . They can promote each of their own companies without paying for external help.

Cross media content
Content relating to one media text is released, watchable, marketed, purchasable, playable across different media platforms

The Lego Movie was distributed on 10 different platforms
Advantages: reaches mass audiences (anyone can play), easily accessible, increases platforms sales
Disadvantages: limits exclusivity, competitors
